one of my favorite places during my vagabonding..... phran nakhon kiri, a palace with the most beautifully aged walls, a herd of monkeys (who's chill demeanor was not to be trusted) and a undefinable sense of "la dolce vita" that gave me the feeling of a tuscan villa.

risk...

the reason why i am on this beautiful vagabonding adventure, is because i took a risk…. the risk was not the decision to travel the world (in fact that had not even  remotely crossed my mind at that point….), it was the risk of trusting people that (in hindsight) i shouldn't have.... but instead of turning bitter about it, or dwelling on what had happened (okok… for not tooooo long at least) i saw that its was the path the universe had put me on... and it all made perfect sense.

yes, to become a vagabond was is in fact more risky but i have gotten back even more beauty. and let me tell you, the beauty of this world is endless.

i took these photos on my first night in cambodia... in siemreab. i was looking for "a cambodian market where tourists don't go." and that's what i found. clothes... fruit... and new street-food i had not tried yet....... frog...snake... and sooomething (i was told "pork and herbs") in a banana leaf (all veeery delicious, incase you were wondering).

a day in phnom penh

my search for one of those elaborate cambodian headpieces (see some pieces of my collection here) has been frustratingly unsuccessful.... but occasionally it will take me off the beaten tourist path, where i get to experience other things, that trip advisor would not send me to.

also as a vagabond....... sometimes you gotta get a little glamed up, for example if it happens to be new years eve.

getting not-every-day glamed with the same items of clothing and beauty products you have had access to for the last months........

my make-up was the never-fail cat-eye-and-lipstick look (a simplefied version of this) that only included liquid eye liner, shimmering powder for my eyelids and cheeks, and lipstick. (but i promise, there will be a vagabond-make-up post coming up.)

i was wearing the silk kimono i bought in suzhou, china (the pics from that trip you can see here and here), that has been serving as the perfect covet-up for 35-degree-temple-visits.

and yes, this look does want heels...... but guess what, i haven't worn any since i started this trip....

even though i still have sooooo many pictures from my time in thailand to show you, i have decided to jump ahead a bit because, (if you follow me on instagram you might have noticed that) i am already on to the next country... cambodia, where (among other... thiiiings) i have experienced some pretty insane tuk tuk rides through the beautiful cambodian countryside.
